ABOUT THE CSO MANICALAND CONSORTIUM
The consortium of Civic Society Organization (CSO) in Manicaland Zimbabwe is a partnership of 8 local community services organisations with a main aim of coordinating, programming, in the 8 thematic areas of children, human rights, youth, environment and climate change, women empowerment, disability inclusion and sexual reproductive health rights (SRHR) and water and sanitation.
The 8 consortium members are fully registered Trusts and PVOs with different technical competencies and geographical coverage but effectively covering the entire Manicaland province Zimbabwe. Currently our consortium partners are in the following districts Mutare, Buhera, Nyanga, Mutasa, Chipinge, Chimanimani. We will cover the last district through a partner which we are discussing with.so as to cover the entire province.
The local partnership has seen the consortium successfully launching programming in capacity building for the consortium members , staff and board members. This also birthed the quarterly consortium interface which has seen not only the consortium but other CSOs in Manicaland’s Mutare district converging for capacity building sessions in various areas that the consortium agrees on. Identified key areas of focus include monitoring and evaluation, financial management, strategic planning, fundraising and policy formulation for NGOs being key thematic capacity building lessons and to-date, 63 CSOs in Manicaland with 47 being regulars in the training have been capacitated. Through these repeated interactions, the members have managed to exchange notes on SRHR issues, youth and other marginalized groups, including undertaking activities together as consortium members.
Combined the consortium has a staff complement of 32 staffers, 8 students on attachment, 1 project vehicles, 2 motorcycles reaching out to six (6) districts of Manicaland spanning 112 wards. Four of the consortium members are located in the urban areas covering the urban setup while four are in the rural areas covering the rural setup to ensure a balancing coverage in programming.

The CSO's efforts truly empower our community and uplift the voices of women and children effectively.
